Looe is a great centre for walkers heading along the coast in both easterly and westerly directions.

If you visit the lighthouse the path loops back uphill to rejoin the coast path. Allow plenty of time for sightseeing before returning either the same way or via inland paths and a quiet country road. There is a road crossing in the town or nearer the coast there is a seasonal ferry service across if you are starting in east looe. An invigorating walk along the south west coast path to the traditional fishing town of looe with its harbour its beaches and its banjo pier.
The path follows the road initially though there is a footpath on almost all of it. As an alternative to staying polruan there is a larger range of accommodation in fowey easily reached by ferry from fowey and in polperro which is on the walk and looe at the other end. However as well as the south west coast path with its ever changing scenery and hidden coves to polperro you can head inland into kilminorth woods at the entrance to the west looe valley with its ancient oak woodland follow the giants hedge an ancient earthwork. Had a great day there and then caught the bus back to looe.
Brilliant walk to looe stopping halfway for drinks and food then on to polperro. Looe to polperro walk. The path to your left just before you reach polperro along reuben s walk will bring you back up to the coast path if you turn right just before the lighthouse. Carry on past the path to the right towards brent and above the war memorial on downend point finally dropping steeply downhill in polperro.
Stunning views and a promise of a surprise round every corner. What more could an englishman wish for than to walk the coast path from looe to polperro. The land around this area was once allotments where villagers grew vegetables and flowers the ground in polperro being too steep to do so and exotic stands of sub tropical plants once cultivated here still flourish in the warm climate.
The views of polperro as you approached were lovely and the sailing boat in moored just outside the harbour made it even more photogenic.
